Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer (Professional Engineer - PE) to join their growing Tampa team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in structural analysis and design, paired with hands-on field experience. This role involves investigating building failures, conducting forensic engineering evaluations, preparing technical reports, and providing litigation support.

Key responsibilities include :

• Perform field inspections to document existing conditions and assess structural damage.
• Investigate cause and origin of failures from natural disasters (hurricanes, floods, fires, earthquakes) and human-related issues (design flaws, construction errors).
• Apply building codes and structural principles to develop accurate evaluations and repair recommendations.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Author detailed technical reports and communicate findings with clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with attorneys, code officials, contractors, and insurance professionals.
• Manage multiple assignments, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Travel occasionally on short notice for inspections.
