About The Position

Job Title : Polysomnographic Registered Technologist

Profession : Polysomnography

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum years of experience required

License : Current RPSGT / RST or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) licensed in the state of practice, if required

Certifications : BLS Certification or RQI for Healthcare Providers

Must-Have : High School Degree or GED

Description :

Accountable for performing, coordinating, and scoring physiologic studies of sleep and sleep-related disorders.

Provides care to patients via technology, therapeutic interventions, and coordination of care with other health care professionals.

Performs overnight Polysomnographic studies using various modes of Positive Airway Pressure therapy interventions.

Performs Home Sleep Apnea Tests.

Monitors and documents on patients undergoing physiologic studies.

Monitors and tracks equipment and supplies.

Completes record keeping and charting.

This position provides supervision, mentorship, and ongoing education of the PSG Tech and PST CPSGT.

Ability to address and solve both technical and interpersonal problems.

Demonstrated communication skills.

Ability to use computerized and mechanical equipment efficiently.

Ability to score studies according to AASM guidelines.

Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, documents, and monitors, and be able to assess customer needs.

Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication as well as the ability to hear and understand spoken information quickly and accurately.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.

Includes frequent computer use for typing and accessing needed information.

May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs when the leader takes clinical shifts.

Preferred clinical or patient care experience.

Proven ability to supervise others.

Available to work the night shift with demonstrated ability to do so.
