JOB SUMMARY
Provides quality diagnostic images as ordered by physician. Must possess skills to operate Computed Tomography Scanner and all equipment associated with the scanner. Must possess the skills to operate all equipment required in the course of performing diagnostic procedures and must demonstrate acceptable knowledge of human structure, patient positioning, principles of radiographic exposure, quality assurance and radiation protection. Utilizes clinical and educational scientific principles to focus on achieving the maximal health potential of the patient through planned care. Collaborates with other healthcare providers to evaluate the outcomes of patient care. Participates in providing 24 hour coverage by being assigned to rotating night shifts and rotating “on-call” schedule. This position has variable hours and may also work in the roles of Mammography Technologist and / or Radiologic Technologist.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education :
Graduate of a recognized program in radiologic technology. Current licensure by the Wyoming Board of Radiologic Technologists and registration by ARRT in Radiography and CT required. BLS certification required.
Job Knowledge and Skills :
Ability to lift, move, and position patients. Ability to follow oral and written instruction. Able to integrate scientific knowledge, technical competence and patient interactions skills to provide safe and accurate procedure with compassion. Recognizes patient conditions essential for the successful completion of the procedure. Must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, human physiology, pathology and medical terminology. Must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. Must possess, use, and maintain knowledge about radiation safety. Able to prepare, administer and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws.
