Responsibilities Position Overview : Ascension Wisconsin has an excellent opportunity for a 4th year Internal Medicine chief resident to join our team as we launch a new Internal Medicine Residency Program in July 2025. This position offers a mix of inpatient, outpatient, and faculty with time for research. Opportunity to teach and work directly with residents in the clinic setting to provide high-quality patient care and education. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of medical education and healthcare delivery within our community while contributing to a new and innovative residency program. Key Responsibilities : Work with our ambulatory, hospitalist, and GME programs. Help develop and lead the ambulatory clinical training program for the Internal Medicine Residency. Assist in establishing the clinic’s operations and structure to support the residency program. Provide direct patient care, including managing your own patient panel as the residency program develops. Collaborate with program leadership to ensure alignment with ACGME accreditation standards and educational objectives. Participate in curriculum development and scholarly activities, contributing to the program’s academic mission. Mentor and support residents in their professional development, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning. Serve as a role model for residents by demonstrating exemplary clinical and interpersonal skills. Skills and Experience : Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to build and manage complex programs. Teaching experience is preferred, but new graduates with a strong desire to teach and lead, as well as experienced clinicians who want to move into the teaching space are encouraged to apply.
