Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details :

Work 4x10 hour shifts Monday-Friday with rotating shift times : 2100-0730, 2200-0830, 2300-0930

Current need is Monday-Thursday 2100-0730, with Wednesday shift starting at 2200

Maintain 1 : 2 patient ratios

40 guaranteed hours per week with 40 hours of orientation

Minimum 1 year of experience required, first-timers accepted

No weekend requirements but may be available as staffing changes

Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, Vents, IV start, Telemetry

On-call requirement : 24 hours call per 6 week schedule period as needed

Float within service line to meet facility needs

Navy scrubs required

Epic charting system experience required

Work primarily rotating between PACU and pre / post interventional radiology area within PACU unit

Manage complicated postoperative patients including multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia

Care for patients from GU, GYN, Colorectal, minimally invasive procedures, Bariatric, and some ENT surgeries

Must pass Relias EKG exam

Critical care experience or Level I Trauma Center experience required

Serve adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations

Must reside at least 75 miles from facility (no local candidates accepted)

Maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract

This Level I Trauma Center is a major short-term acute care teaching hospital with 1,266 staffed beds. The facility specializes in complex surgical procedures and trauma care, featuring a sophisticated PACU that handles high-acuity postoperative patients. The hospital provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams. The facility maintains state-of-the-art equipment and technology to support advanced medical care and complex surgical recovery needs.
