Overview
The Nevada Automotive Test Center (NATC) is seeking a Media Technician at our Silver Springs, NV location. The Media Technician supports a team of engineers who design, manufacture, and test innovative automotive mobility solutions. NATC, founded in 1957, is a privately owned, independent test, evaluation, design and engineering facility offering development and testing to customers worldwide. NATC operates across a large testing area in northern Nevada, providing an extensive environment for off-road mobility testing and data collection.
Position Summary : The Media Technician works under the direct supervision of the Media Department Manager and supports the company's media documentation needs and the resulting edited products. Responsibilities include maintaining and organizing media equipment and assets, assisting with field media documentation of test procedures and results, and coordinating equipment usage for staff. Responsibilities also include downloading, editing, managing, and archiving media content; ensuring timely delivery of final media products in various formats for internal and external use. Additional duties include supporting planning and conducting media needs to support testing, maintaining media documentation and historical data retrieval, video / photo capture for company presentations, media support for internal events, operation of support vehicles, and other duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing media recording and processing support to current design, test and evaluation activities.
- Coordinate with coworkers to plan and schedule media support based on project deadlines and priorities.
- Receive direction and / or requests from staff regarding captured media, and process accordingly.
- Maintain, store, and track media equipment on a daily basis.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of media hardware and processing tools.
- Have familiarity with various media software processes and tools.
- Support media recording in the field as requested by project personnel.
- Download, compile, and transfer media.
- Review media data to identify content or events of interest based on the project objectives.
- Use editing equipment and software to condense the acquired media files into edited segments for internal or external use.
- Archive and organize raw and processed media data for future retrieval (including Metadata).
- Communicate frequently with project engineers, program managers, and other support staff to align media department activities with current priorities.
- Work with test teams to assist with media equipment installations and media acquisition methods to satisfy project objectives.
- Support test conduct to support media capture requirements.
- Process and maintain files for media.

Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications :
High school graduate or equivalent, with at least two years related experience or associate degree in a technical and / or media-editing field.Previous experience with media editing or media technician experience.Media camera and / or still camera operation experience.Able to work in excess of 40 hours per week with varied work shifts.Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.Must be professional, personable, and able to relate well with employees and customers at all levels.Must be detail-oriented.Must possess strong computer skills including database entry, report generation skills and proficiency in the listed software.Must have excellent organization and time management skills.Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing business conditions.Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License.Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, expressing ideas clearly and actively listening to thoughts and ideas of others.Must be able to use MS Office tools and Windows software.Must possess good reading comprehension to follow written instructions and procedures effectively.Must possess written and verbal communication skills, expressing ideas clearly and actively listening to thoughts and ideas of others.Preferred Qualifications :
Familiarity with automotive testing industry or similar technical environment.General knowledge of mechanical systems and vehicle dynamics.Familiar with wireless media transmission and media teleconferencing.Familiar with high-speed media acquisition, post-processing, and motion tracking / analysis.Experience with analog media to digital conversion.Knowledge of media storage applications.General knowledge and experience with digital imaging and reproduction, including image file compression methods.Familiarity with cameras, camcorders, infrared cameras, and other remote / compact media equipment for onboard recording applications.Knowledge of synchronizing media data with other digital data streams.Software and Equipment Used

Physical Demands
This is primarily an office position, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods, lift media equipment, open supplies and bend or stand as necessary. This position also requires walking on uneven ground and climbing stairs. The job may involve field tasks in extreme conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds, plus driving and working around vehicles.
Position Type and Hours
This is a full-time position. Days and hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. Work hours may vary due to project needs.
