Location:
Santa Monica, CA – through September
Santa Ynez, CA – Live-in starting September (private 1-bedroom guest house with bath and kitchen provided) *must relocate to Santa Ynez*
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40–50 hours per week (schedule may vary week to week)
Compensation: $35-$45 per hour

About the Family:

A warm, welcoming family is seeking a reliable, organized, and professional Nanny to support their growing household. They have a sweet 2-year-old daughter and are expecting their second baby in October. Both parents work from home and are very involved with their children, so they are looking for a Nanny who can intuitively balance support while knowing when to give space. The home also includes two older, friendly dogs, so comfort around pets is a must.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide loving, attentive care for the toddler and, eventually, the newborn

  • Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities and creative play

  • Cook and bake healthy meals for the children

  • Involve the children in meal prep and encourage exposure to new foods and flavors

  • Drive children as needed (family car provided)

  • Children’s laundry and light housekeeping related to childcare

  • Keep play areas and children’s spaces tidy and organized

  • Assist with errands or occasional pet care as needed

  • Communicate openly and adjust to the family’s evolving needs

Lifestyle Fit:

  • Relocation Readiness: This role requires full-time relocation to Santa Ynez starting in September. Candidates must be genuinely open and prepared for this transition and ideally have done some research on the area.

  • Simple, Nature-Focused Living: The family embraces a country lifestyle in Santa Ynez — a slower pace, outdoor living, and creating daily activities grounded in real-life experiences. The ideal Nanny enjoys nature, is self-motivated, and brings creativity to each day.

  • Farm-to-Table Approach: Comfort in the kitchen is essential. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys visiting local farm stands and preparing fresh, healthy meals for children without needing step-by-step guidance. The family values someone who takes initiative, has fun with food, and includes the kids in the cooking process.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience with live-in roles and newborn care

  • Calm, patient, and organized with strong intuition

  • Comfortable in a country setting and excited to embrace a more grounded lifestyle

  • Confident in the kitchen and passionate about healthy, varied, farm-fresh meals

  • Loves being outside and creating enriching, hands-on experiences

  • Comfortable around dogs

  • Able to “read the room” — knowing when to step in and when to give space

  • Professional, communicative, and open to feedback

  • CPR/First Aid Certified (required)

  • Long-term mindset with flexibility as the family’s needs evolve

Additional Details:
