The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) invites applications for a Breast Surgical Oncologist to join its collaborative and highly skilled faculty team. This exceptional opportunity offers the chance to work with a multidisciplinary academic team serving diverse patient populations, including urban and rural communities, while contributing to the growth of the Nebraska Medicine Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Nebraska.

  • Exclusive Breast Surgery Practice : 100% breast-focused surgery with no general surgery responsibilities or call.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration : Work alongside specialists in medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, plastic surgery, and more.

  • Diverse Patient Care : Manage a wide range of pathology and care for patients from urban and rural areas.
  • Plastic Surgery Support : Extensive collaboration for autologous, implant, lymphatic, and oncoplastic breast reconstruction.
  • Strong Clinic Support : APP and nurse case managers ensure efficient clinic and OR operations.
  • Comprehensive Care Approach : Access to a robust survivorship program and a high-risk clinic.
  • Research Opportunities : Participate in clinical trials, basic science, translational, and health outcomes research.
  • Advanced Resources : Assigned OR block time and onsite ultrasound for in-clinic and intraoperative use.

  • The ideal candidate will be an MD / DO (or equivalent degree), who has completed a Breast Surgical Oncology or General Surgical Oncology Fellowship and is board certified / eligible in General Surgery.
