Overview Position : Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator / Manager (depending on experience). Reports to : Chief Advancement Officer. Direct Reports : None. FLSA Classification : Exempt. Pay : $42,000-50,000 / $50,000-58,000 DOE.

The YWCA of Asheville seeks a creative, values-driven, and entrepreneurial professional to join our Advancement Team as Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator to promote the YWCA of Asheville, elevate its mission of eliminating racism and empowering women, and connect our community to its programs through multi-channel digital, traditional, and social media marketing and advertising activities.

Position YWCA as a premier nonprofit and partner in Buncombe County among key stakeholders, current and potential volunteers, donors, program participants, policymakers, community leaders, and like-minded organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities Marketing and Social Media Coordinate the development of multi-channel marketing and advertising strategies with the Advancement Team and Program Directors to build awareness, enhance the YWCA of Asheville’s online and community presence, and achieve donor and volunteer recruitment, membership, and fundraising goals.

Collaborate with the Communications Specialist on market and target audience research, campaign development across email, print / mail, social media, website, and other online channels.

Create content and storytelling; produce marketing materials.

Perform basic graphic design, visual layout, and photo editing to maintain brand consistency.

Analyze campaign performance and report KPIs; manage advertising placement and contracts.

Budget and resource management; maintain marketing and outreach supplies and equipment inventory.

Coordinate cross-departmental projects; provide editing support and crisis communications assistance as needed.

Outreach and Community Relations Coordinate outreach campaigns, events, and initiatives aligned with the mission; manage the annual YW Outreach and Partner Event calendar with program / department representatives.

Promote the YWCA’s involvement in community and partnership events.

Work with program and Advancement Team staff to recruit and coordinate volunteers for YWCA events and campaigns throughout the year.

Enhance the YWCA’s public image by building relationships with community partners, like-minded organizations and businesses, colleges and universities.

Build relationships with media; create and distribute press releases.

Monitor public sentiment, opportunities, and challenges; distribute flyers and print collateral in the community.

Donor Communications and Storytelling Support the Advancement Team in fundraising content and printing for appeals.

Identify and work with speakers, filmmakers, and photographers to develop scripts and other creative content for fundraising and donor-facing events.

Manage sponsorship deliverables for YWCA events and corporate programs.

Photograph events and programs as needed.

Qualifications 2-5 years of marketing, communications, and / or public relations experience for the Coordinator role; 5+ years for the Manager role.

Required Digital literacy including MS Office, Google Workspace, Squarespace, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).

Content creation for diverse audiences across digital and traditional media.

Basic graphic design and digital layout using tools similar to Adobe Creative Suite and / or Canva.

Excellent verbal communication and comfort with public speaking.

Strong writing and editing skills.

Press and media relationship-building experience.

Preferred Knowledge of nonprofit industry marketing practices.

Digital photography.

Spanish fluency.
