What You'll Do

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely posting of customer cash receipts received through various sources while maintaining adherence to all department and accounting policies, procedures, and controls. In this role you will have the opportunity to build relationships and work closely with other QXO internal teams and external customers. Qualified candidates will be experienced with cash application of various payment types (lockbox, wire, ACH, credit card, etc.), possess excellent critical thinking skills, and be driven to provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.

  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of all daily payments and deposits.
  • Prepare reports and post adjustments to accounts as needed.
  • Consistently resolve all outstanding unapplied cash.
  • Provide prompt responses and resolution to issues raised by phone or email.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to help resolve problems or payment discrepancies.
  • Scan, index, and file supporting documentation as required.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and raise concerns to leadership as needed.
  • Support, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • At least 2 years prior experience with high-volume cash application.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent math and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information, multiple tasks, and prioritize duties.
  • Basic accounting and finance knowledge.
  • Experience with AS400 is a plus.
  • Working conditions

  • No travel.
  • Work assignment is hybrid requiring in office attendance as needed for scheduled meetings, training, rotational mail or check assignments, and other scheduled activities and tasks based on business needs.
  • Physical requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and / or keyboard.
  • Heavy methods of verbal and auditory communication via phone, virtual calls, and / or email.
