Healthcare Setting : Short Term Acute Care Hospital

Unit : Operating Room (OR)

Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 21 / 2025 – End : 1 / 20 / 2026)

Nursing Shift : 3x10-hour day shifts per week (07 : 00 – 17 : 30), varied days

On-Call : 4 weekday nights (M-F 17 : 30–07 : 00) and 2 weekend day call shifts (07 : 00–07 : 00)

Hours per Week : 40

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2010 - $2160

Patient Ratio : 1 : 1

Average Daily Cases : 12

Operating Rooms : 4

Charting System : EPIC

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience

Active Washington RN license or Compact License

Current BLS certification

Proficiency with electronic charting systems (EPIC preferred)

Ability to take scheduled call shifts

Willingness to float within skillset as needed

Community hospital experience preferred

Two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years

Reliable transportation required

Submit all requested time off with application

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

Provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to surgical patients in the operating room

Assist with procedures including general OR, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, hysterectomy, joint replacement, cystoscopy, prostatectomy, and more

Maintain strict adherence to infection control, fire safety, laser safety, and radiation safety protocols

Handle and label specimens according to universal protocol

Administer blood and blood products as needed

Participate in wound management and post-operative care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services

Float to other units within skillset as required

Document patient care accurately using EPIC charting system
