Job Summary Responsible for applying standard sourcing practices to initiatives of medium to high risk for direct, indirect and overhead procurement categories. Sourcing engagements at this level require industry expertise, consideration of total cost of ownership, financial modeling and negotiation skills, to meet the variety of needs in the business. Acts as a resource for advice, counsel and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential CIT service providers and suppliers.
• Prepares solicitations and ensures completeness and responsiveness to vendor and internal client needs. Ensures solicitations conform to corporate policy, business, financial, contractual and risk perspectives.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to secure the best terms.
• Manage relationships with existing suppliers and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
• Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify new sourcing opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand sourcing needs and requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities and supplier performance.
• Maintains procurement files in an audit-ready condition, conforms to standard practices and Battelle operating procedures and in a manner consistent with legal requirements.
• Ensure timely delivery of services and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Assists sourcing staff and / or other technical, support, or management staff of market, technical, and administrative trends and problems within assigned area.
• Mentors, trains and develop lower-level sourcing staff to assume more complex contract activity.
