Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Slack is looking for an engineering leader to join our Frontend engineering team within the Application Architecture and Systems (ArchSys) organization.

This team is responsible for the architecture and core modules powering the Slack desktop UI, as well as the platform enabling Slack to build and ship frontend features.

In addition to these responsibilities, the team stewards and contributes heavily to the Electron Open Source project, which powers the Slack Desktop client on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

As a Sr Engineering Manager in ArchSys Frontend, you will be leading an experienced and diverse team, coaching towards project milestones and career growth, and advocating for and maintaining a clear roadmap and long term vision.

While you won’t be defining the architecture or writing the code yourself, you care deeply about web technologies, frameworks, maintainability, and developer efficiency, and will be crafting the future of FE and Desktop engineering at Slack.

A key part of this role will be developing relationships with partners including engineers, engineering managers, and product managers in order to weigh in and make trade offs against existing business priorities as well as champion team interests which may include maintaining momentum for large scale, multi-quarter initiatives.

If you enjoy building high-functioning teams, thinking about the future of web technologies like React or web components, and navigating challenges such as long term code health and developer velocity, then this is the role for you.

What you will be doing

  • Collaborating with the team to set the vision and complete long term strategies
  • Defining, monitoring, and reporting on goals for team deliverables
  • Representing the team in planning, product, and leadership meetings within the organization and across Slack engineering
  • Regularly connecting with multi-functional partners across Slack to drive alignment and complete business goals
  • Representing and promoting opportunities to improve productivity, performance, and code health through a consistently evolving and modern frontend infrastructure
  • Acting as a key collaborator and strategic partner in business critical project areas such as security and product

What you should have

  • Experience coaching and mentoring a team of impactful engineers
  • Resilience, and capacity for navigating uncertainty, ambiguity, conflict, and high stakes decisions
  • Passion for developer experience and product lifecycle improvement
  • Familiarity with TypeScript, React, Redux and other web technologies, along with the ability to understand and explain technical trade-offs and complexities
  • Experience rolling out large scale, cross cutting changes safely across multiple work streams and development teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience
  • Salesforce is an equal opportunity employer and maintains a policy of non-discrimination with all employees and applicants for employment.
