Vice President Health And Safety
Location : SSA Marine, Inc. in Seattle, Washington Salary : $250,000 - $260,000
Responsible for the creation of the Health and Safety strategy and vision as well as the implementation, and ongoing management of the safety program for the company's global terminal containers operations. Develop, champion and drive policies, standards, programs and systems to improve divisional safety maturity. Provide leadership and support across business units to improve the division's safety programs, and performance. Provide leadership to ensure global compliance with all applicable regulations and internal company standards while focusing on identifying and effectively managing safety risks that protect employee health and safety and assure continuous improvement. Partner and collaborate effectively with business and operations leaders to create and implement all solutions to mitigate safety risks and ensure focused execution. Responsible for divisional safety frameworks, metrics, reporting, and compliance with all Occupational Safety and Health standards. Position may include additional duties that utilize the required skills. Telecommuting permitted, up to 40%; employee must reside within Washington State. Position requires up to 50% domestic and international travel to unanticipated terminals to respond to safety-related incidents.
Job Requirements : Requires a Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Safety Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Transportation, or a related field, and five years of experience with Health and Safety program management in a supervisory capacity. In lieu of a Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Safety Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Transportation, or a related field, and five years of experience with Health and Safety program management in a supervisory capacity, employer will accept seven years of experience with Health and Safety program management in a supervisory capacity.
