Responsibilities Position is based in a 40-bed Med / Surg unit specializing in neurological disorders and post-operative spine care Patient population includes stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, neuro and ortho surgery, and inflammatory brain or spinal cord disorders Includes six step-down telemetry beds, six bariatric beds, and a four-bed Neuro Monitoring Unit for seizure patients aged five and up Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 4 or 1 : 5 Uses Epic for EMR and Pyxis for medication management Night shift schedule : 4x12 hours, 19 : 00 to 07 : 30 Required to work every other weekend May float to other Med / Surg units, ICU units, and ED waiting rooms Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at rate differential Care for a diverse mix of neurological and post-surgical patients Expected to complete self-reported modules during orientation and annually No holiday requests accepted; holiday RTO may be discussed with manager for unit needs Return staff must have at least 6 months since prior assignment Travelers are prioritized to float before core staff Requirements Active Michigan RN license required Minimum 1 year of Med / Surg experience required, 1-2 years preferred BLS (AHA) certification required NIHSS certification required or commitment to obtain prior to start Ability to float between specified units as needed Must provide proof of flu vaccination or request an exemption within 48 hours of signing contract References required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625503.
