Security Officer - Utilities Patrol Driver

As a Security Officer - Utilities Patrol Driver in Charlottesville, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more.

As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal serving a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain visibility, and provide outstanding customer service while communicating clearly with staff and visitors. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license. Pay Rate : $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule :

DayTimeMon 11 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM

Tue 11 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM

Wed 11 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and / or suspicious behavior. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to Allied Universal management and / or client representatives as required.
  • Assist with access control procedures, verifying identification and credentials as necessary for individuals entering the location.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response efforts, following established protocols to address incidents that may arise in a utilities environment.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
  • Access control and / or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
