Cost Accountant | Cadillac, MI Salary Range: $67,000 - $101,000 depending on experience Are you a forward-thinking professional with a passion for analyzing costs and driving financial efficiency? The Pivot Group is committed to fostering meaningful relationships in the manufacturing community. We partner with companies in Cadillac seeking skilled Cost Accountants. The Opportunity We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Cadillac region seeking Cost Accountants. Key Responsibilities Analyze and report on manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead). Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods. Perform inventory valuation, reconciliation, and obsolescence analysis. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts related to production costs. Provide detailed product cost analysis to support pricing decisions and profitability reviews. Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and process improvements. Prepare month-end journal entries and reconciliations related to inventory and Cost of Goods Sold. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3-5 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis. Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights for cost control and efficiency. Bonus Qualifications Experience with specific ERP modules for manufacturing costing (e.g., SAP CO-PC, Oracle Cost Management). Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for presenting cost analysis. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and their impact on cost drivers. Advanced Excel skills, including VBA for complex modeling and automation.
