Bring Your Creativity to Washington's Court Technology Education!

The Washington Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is searching for a detail-oriented, creative, and enthusiastic Court Technology Educator to join our Court Education team. If you enjoy making technology understandable, engaging, and empowering for learners, this role offers the chance to shape meaningful learning experiences across the Washington State court community.

In this position, you'll design, develop, deliver, and continually enhance technology focused court education for both internal staff and external partners. Your work will reach people statewide, helping them navigate and apply court technologies with confidence and ease. You'll collaborate with subject matter experts, education committees, and colleagues who share a passion for delivering high-quality learning. Together, you'll transform real-world court needs into education that is clear, accessible, and impactful.

Reporting to the Court Education Services (CES) Manager or Supervisor, you'll contribute to curriculum creation, instructional design, the development of modern training tools, and responsive customer support. While the role is non-supervisory, it is highly collaborative and gives you the freedom to innovate. Whether developing eLearning modules, leading workshops, designing conference content, creating demos, or hosting webinars, you'll have the opportunity to bring creativity and purpose to every project.

Status: Regular, Full-Time

Location: Olympia, Washington

Salary: Range 64: $78,504 102,996 per year (DOQ).

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION

AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. If you are invited to an interview and currently reside outside of Washington State, seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager for this recruitment.

This position requires you to be in the office at least two (2) days per week.

In this role, you will:

  • Conducts analyses to define educational goals, learning objectives, system workflows, and appropriate delivery methods.
  • Designs and develops in-person and online training with subject matter experts, including advanced technical and judicial education.
  • Creates and maintains standardized instructional resources such as manuals, exercises, tutorials, presentations, demos, and job aids.
  • Develops release notes, technical documentation, help files, reference guides, and customer-service knowledge base content.
  • Delivers training webinars and instructs judicial staffvirtually and on-siteon software applications, policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluates learning effectiveness, responds to advanced help-desk inquiries, and provides Tier 2 customer support.
  • Collaborates with developers, testers, analysts, liaisons, and product owners to ensure educational content aligns with system functionality and business needs.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

A combination of education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge and global understanding of education methodology may substitute for education and/or experience requirements. Directly relevant experience will still be considered even if the years of required experience are not met.

  • Bachelor's degree in education or closely related field
  • AND
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible related experience in the design and delivery of adult education.
  • OR
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible related experience in the Washington State courts, responsible for training court staff.

Must be willing to travel. This position may require periodic travel to support programs in various parts of the state for up to one week at a time.

The ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Delivers exceptional customer service, consultation, and educational support while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Designs and delivers effective curriculum and learning experiences using sound adult education principles and accessibility standards.
  • Demonstrates strong technical aptitude, including proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools and the ability to self-learn new technologies.
  • Analyzes complex issues, develops solutions, and independently manages projects from concept through implementation.
  • Sets realistic expectations, meets deadlines, and takes personal responsibility for producing high-quality work.
  • Adapts quickly to change, manages time and resources effectively, and maintains a positive, flexible approach in both independent and team environments.
