Job Overview A law firm seeks a highly motivated Counsel candidate to join its Finance, Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group in Baltimore, MD. Responsibilities Lead the coordination, preparation, review, and management of local counsel opinions. Analyze opinion requests and ensure conformity to lender expectations and firm standards. Serve as the primary contact for referring counsel, resolving inconsistencies, and negotiating opinion language. Partner with deal teams to ensure opinions are accurate and delivered on tight timelines. Maintain strong knowledge of opinion practice and enforceability concepts. Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and best practices. Requirements 3-6 years of experience in equipment finance, asset-based lending, or commercial finance. Experience with commercial lending local counsel opinions; real estate opinion experience preferred. Excellent judgment and meticulous legal analysis skills. Ability to work independently and manage complex workflows. Strong communication skills across offices and jurisdictions. Admitted to practice, or eligible for admission, in the jurisdiction of the office location. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Bar admission in relevant jurisdiction. Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to manage multiple transactions concurrently. Benefits Reduced billable hour requirement.
