Radiologic & CT Technologist Job Description Job Title Radiologic & CT Technologist Job Summary This role is for a skilled Radiologic & CT Technologist at a Critical Access Hospital in Weaverville, California. The technologist will perform a variety of diagnostic imaging examinations, including general radiology and computed tomography (CT), on a diverse patient population across all age groups. This position requires a professional who can operate complex imaging equipment with proficiency, ensure patient safety and comfort, and produce high-quality images under minimal supervision. The successful candidate will play a vital role in patient diagnosis and treatment, adhering strictly to federal, state, and hospital regulations. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic imaging examinations in both general Radiology and Computed Tomography (CT) modalities. Accurately position patients for optimal imaging results, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Operate and maintain complex imaging equipment, understanding its functionalities across various modalities. Provide age-appropriate patient care, including assessing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety-related criteria. Adjust contrast media and utilize appropriate shielding techniques based on patient age and specific exam requirements. Assess patients for signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect and evaluate needs for safety measures (e.g., assistance with standing/transferring). Maintain strict patient and resident confidentiality in all aspects of practice. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, rules, and laws applicable to Diagnostic Imaging services and Critical Access hospitals. Organize self, equipment, and supplies efficiently to maintain a smooth workflow. React quickly and efficiently in emergency situations and during equipment breakdowns, initiating appropriate response protocols. Monitor imaging equipment performance and report any suspected or actual problems to management. Maintain a safe working environment and observe all equipment safety standards, including weight limits. Assist with departmental administrative tasks such as answering phones and patient scheduling. Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) monitoring as required. Consistently work within the scope of practice as defined by the California State Board of Radiology. Demonstrate effective communication methods and skills with patients, medical staff, peers, and coworkers. Required Qualifications Graduate of an Accredited Radiology Program with an Associate of Science Degree. Experience in at least two imaging modalities (e.g., General Radiology and CT). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Preferred Qualifications American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Two years of experience in an Acute Care setting or a freestanding diagnostic imaging facility. Skills & Competencies Clinical Skills: Proficient in diagnostic imaging techniques for Radiology and CT; patient positioning; age-appropriate patient care; emergency response; basic equipment troubleshooting. Equipment Proficiency: Operation and understanding of advanced Radiology and CT imaging equipment. Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; strong organizational skills; self-reliance and resourcefulness; ability to work with minimal supervision; adaptability to changing priorities; teamwork and collaboration; strict adherence to confidentiality and compliance. Shift Details Shift Type: PM Shift Shift Duration: 12 hours Days Per Week: 3 days Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: January 8, 2026 Call Requirements: Required, shared equally within the department, including holidays and weekends. Weekend Rotations: Required, as part of flexible staffing patterns. Licensing Requirements Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) Licensure.
