Job Description Job Title Registered Nurse - Emergency Psychiatric Services Job Summary Join the dedicated team at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine, a leading behavioral healthcare facility in New England. This role is within the Emergency Psychiatric Services department, specifically the Crisis Psychiatric Unit, which is committed to providing comprehensive care and support to individuals on their path to mental wellness. The unit serves a diverse patient population, including individuals aged 5 and older experiencing various psychiatric illnesses such as major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, and psychotic disorders. The team also supports patients requiring detoxification services, with some individuals presenting with co-occurring medical needs. As a Registered Nurse, you will be an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for delivering direct and indirect patient care through the application of the nursing process. Key responsibilities include developing and updating individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care, evaluating patient outcomes, and identifying appropriate resources to support patient recovery. Key Responsibilities Provide direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process. Develop, implement, and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care. Evaluate patient progress and outcomes against established goals. Identify and facilitate access to appropriate patient resources. Required Qualifications Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN). Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in mental health nursing. Ineligible for candidates previously employed by St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. Must possess a clean licensure history. Preferred Qualifications Not specified. Skills & Competencies Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proven capacity to manage stress and make critical decisions in high-pressure environments. Adaptability and flexibility to cover various shifts as operational needs dictate. Shift Details Shift Type: Nights (NOC) Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts Days per Week: 3 days Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: August 3, 2026 Call Requirements: Not specified. Weekend Rotation: Not specified. Licensing Requirements Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maine. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required prior to start.
