Complex Human Resources Manager
The Complex Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Complex Director and Assistant Directors of Human Resources in managing a variety of HR initiatives and functions within the complex. He/she is also responsible for filling all open positions in a timely manner, accurate and timely completion of paperwork, the understanding and enforcement of company policies, and assisting with benefits and workers compensation duties.
Responsibilities include assisting Highgate associates and leadership with necessary resources and general inquiries, compiling data review lists and distributing to departments, compiling turnover reports, entering payroll information on computer, conducting prescreening interviews, responding to unemployment claims, maintaining various logbooks, auditing hours worked in payroll reports, compiling wage surveys, monitoring and maintaining leave of absence and Workman's Compensation claims, answering questions regarding 401K Plan, vacation and benefits, maintaining a complimentary room night log, preparing and placing recruitment advertising, processing paperwork for terminating employees, maintaining an advertising logbook, becoming certified trainer in all Human Resources training modules, ensuring compliance with all HR and related Loss Prevention SOP's, participating in Highgate Hotel Culture & Engagement Committees, scheduling Highgate Hotel Orientation, facilitating Highgate Hotel Orientation, writing articles and taking pictures for property newsletter, assisting with special projects, planning employee events, coordinating Travel Reduction Program, maintaining Safety and First Aid logs and other compliance related documents, and performing other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications include at least 1 year of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or a related industry, previous supervisory responsibility preferred, college course work in related field helpful, high school diploma or equivalent required, long hours sometimes required, sedentary work, maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor at all times, effective communication both verbally and written, multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions to meet deadlines, attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner, attending all hotel required meetings and trainings, participating in M.O.D. coverage as required, maintaining regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, complying with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations, maximizing efforts towards productivity, identifying problem areas and assisting in implementing solutions, effective in handling problems, understanding and evaluating complex information, and maintaining confidentiality of information.
