General Information Position: Education Adjunct (Role Code FLSA Exempt) – Pay Band UG. Location: Chesterfield, 041. Hiring Range: $793–$1,693 per credit hour. The position is part‑time, with a maximum of 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters, and 8 in the summer semester. Telework options may be available subject to business needs. Work schedule varies, with day and evening classes in face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online formats on either the Chester or Midlothian campus. Responsibilities Teach courses in education that prepare students for careers working with young children in various early‑care and education settings or for transfer into baccalaureate programs. Course content focuses on pre‑K through high school, including Foundations of Education, Foundations of Exceptional Education, Teaching in a Diverse Society, Human Growth and Development, Classroom and Behavioral Management, and Health, Safety, and Nutrition Education. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. Required Qualifications Minimum of a Master’s degree in Education, or equivalent, from a regionally accredited institution with at least 18 graduate credits in the teaching field. Minimum of two years of related occupational experience, with strong current knowledge of best practices in the field. Proven expertise in education. Additional Considerations Relevant college‑level teaching experience with a diverse student population. Training/certification to teach online and hybrid courses. Experience with interactive instructional technologies in the classroom and online. Qualifications and Requirements Operation of a state vehicle. No supervision of employees. No required travel.
