Assistant Corporation Counsel IV – City of Buffalo Department of Law Application Deadline: August 7, 2026 Salary Range: $121,540 to $131,840 Our Practice The City of Buffalo Law Department practices all aspects of municipal law. Like an office of general counsel, we provide advice, represent the City of Buffalo in court and administrative proceedings, and assist with complex projects and transactions. The Law Department provides the City of Buffalo with legal services spanning litigation, legislation, business and transactional counsel, real estate, labor and employment, tax, and contracts. The Role The Assistant Corporation Counsel IV role offers an experienced practitioner the opportunity to expand and deepen their practice. The Law Department has openings for practitioners in real estate and transactional fields interested in performing important legal work at a high level as well as openings in other areas of practice. An ACC IV in this position may expect to contribute to complex lease or sale agreements, negotiate and prepare standard contracts within the City and with outside parties, and provide counsel regarding transactional or real estate matters. Work will be performed under general supervision of the Corporation Counsel and Deputies. ACC IVs are expected and given opportunities to independently plan, organize, and execute their legal work. ACC IVs are encouraged to provide guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys in the office. Minimum Qualifications Juris Doctor Degree from a recognized law school; A license to practice as an Attorney in the courts of the State of New York; At least seven (7) years of full-time experience in the practice of law after graduation from a recognized law school. #J-18808-Ljbffr
