Jack in the Box – Assistant Manager: Store 3049 National City, CA 91950 | $20.00 – $24.00 per hour | Full time Job Description Responsible for managing restaurant operations in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. The primary responsibilities include providing excellent internal service, external service, building restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties / Responsibilities Internal Service: Recruit, select, train, develop and evaluate employees; monitor staffing; implement training systems; develop internal candidates for management; create a friendly, fun, safe environment; motivate employees; enforce labor‑law compliance. External Service: Manage daily operations for guest excellence; train staff; ensure consistent service and food quality; monitor safety and cleanliness; respond to complaints; maintain brand image. Higher Profits: Use management tools to analyze performance; implement action plans; increase sales and profitability; monitor costs and budget adherence. Other related duties as required, assigned and directed. Experience : Minimum 1 year as Shift Leader or Assistant Manager in customer service (internal promote) and 100% certification at all workstations, OR minimum 3 years as Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility (external recruit). Knowledge / Skills / Abilities : 18+ years; completed Assistant Manager training; ServSafe certified; proficient English; interpersonal skills; basic math; analytical and organizational skills; self‑starter; PC competency; valid driver’s license, insurance, and personal vehicle for deposits and travel. Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior. Physical Requirements Stand and walk 85–95% of shift. Lift 10–65 lbs. Move freely throughout the restaurant. Operate equipment and drive vehicle. Use computer keyboard.
