Fluor Project Information Specialist I
The Project Information Specialist I acts as the Project Specialist of automation technology for the project, managing the information technology, automation and information/data management requirements for the project team. This position may be considered entry-level, working in conjunction with a lead Project Information Manager (PIM).
Apply effective knowledge sharing behaviors in the use of Fluor's knowledge management portals and communities
Collect the data and information requested by the lead project information manager (PIM)
Assist in the implementation of remote collaboration tools and procedures to support multi-office design reviews as well as, training and collaboration sessions
Assist in the implementation of client or joint venture mandated systems or processes which includes planning, setup, and configuration
Assist implementation of Fluor environment for Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and coordinate with EDMS Project Application Specialist (PAS)
Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and no required years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to four (4) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
Accredited four (4) year degree or two (2) year diploma, or global equivalent, in Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, or Computer Science is preferred
One (1) year of experience in any engineering discipline
One (1) year of experience in Project Information Management/Information Technology/Automation is preferred
Basic knowledge of Information Technology is preferred in:
-Desktop/laptop environment and general office tools
-Infrastructure such as wide area networks (WAN), local area networks (LAN), telecommunications, etc.
-Electronic security
-Electronic communications & collaboration
-Database and network storage support
Knowledge of document management system(s)
Knowledge of information management practices
Knowledge of specific computing systems and/or execution processes
