The Impact you will have in this role:

Being a member of Technology Research & Innovation (TRI) Department of IT Business Unit, the TRI AI Governance Associate Director is a senior individual-contributor and thought-leader role responsible for shaping, executing, and continuously improving DTCC's enterprise AI governance framework. This role partners closely with the AI Enablement Team (AET), AI Council, Technology Risk, Compliance, Legal, Model Risk, Privacy, Cyber, and product and engineering teams to ensure AI use cases are identified, assessed, governed, monitored, and reported in accordance with DTCC AI Policy, enterprise standards, and regulatory and audit expectations.

The Associate Director will strengthen DTCC's first line of defense for AI by providing review, challenge, guidance, and oversight across the AI lifecycle, while enabling responsible innovation at scale.

In this role, you will:

  • Help centrally lead DTCC's AI initiatives by supporting governance, prioritization, and risk transparency across the enterprise.
  • Ensure AI use cases align with DTCC AI Policy, procedures, and standards while remaining fit-for-purpose and innovation-friendly.
  • Contribute to a strong audit posture by ensuring AI governance processes, artifacts, decisions, and risk outcomes are consistently documented, traceable, and defensible.
  • Enable effective critical issue, decision-making, and reporting to senior management, the AI Council, Management Risk Committee (MRC), and the Board.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

AI Governance, Controls & Audit Readiness

  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of DTCC's AI governance framework, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Review, challenge, and provide mentorship on AI use cases to ensure risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, accepted, or remediated in alignment with DTCC's risk appetite.
  • Ensure AI governance activities produce clear, consistent, and auditable artifacts to support internal audit, regulatory reviews, and management assurance.
  • Align AI governance practices with DTCC's broader risk, control, issue management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Monitor emerging AI-related regulatory, industry, and supervisory developments and assess impacts to DTCC governance and controls.

AI Use Case Lifecycle Management

  • Partner with the AI Enablement Team to guide AI use case submissions through appropriate review and governance pathways, including AET Review, AI Registry, and additional Portfolio Management/ARB/SDP processes.
  • Ensure AI use cases are evaluated for consistency, duplication, risk exposure, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Support maintenance and quality assurance of enterprise AI inventories, registries, and attestations for production AI solutions.

Metrics, Reporting & Executive Communication

  • Define, review, and improve AI governance metrics, benchmarks, and KRIs to provide transparent, defensible insight into AI adoption, risk posture, and control efficiency.
  • Prepare materials for leadership, governance forums, and regulatory collaborators, including dashboards, summaries, and presentations.
  • Support consistent enterprise reporting on AI initiatives, risks, and governance efficiency.

Stakeholder Partnership & Enablement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to product, engineering, data, risk, compliance, and legal partners on responsible AI governance and control expectations.
  • Collaborate with team members across the lines of defense to ensure cohesive execution of AI governance, risk, and audit objectives.
  • Chip in to education sessions, working groups, and forums to reinforce AI governance, control, and audit ready practices across DTCC.

**NOTE: The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above. **

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

  • 10+ years of experience in technology, risk management, governance, or related fields, preferably within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of AI concepts, model lifecycles, and associated risk domains (e.g., model risk, data risk, privacy, cyber, operational risk).
  • Proven track record to review, challenge, and influence sophisticated initiatives while balancing innovation with risk and control requirements.
  • Experience working across enterprise governance processes, including issue management, policy development, and executive reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder leadership skills, with the ability to synthesize sophisticated topics for non experts plus audit, and regulatory audiences

Highly Preferred

  • Direct experience supporting or partnering with AI governance, model risk management, data governance, or emerging technology oversight functions.
  • Familiarity with enterprise portfolio governance, metrics, and board-level reporting.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, lean teams with high visibility and accountability.
