Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Critical Care - Obtains and records initial assessment and establishes priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Re-assesses patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention.
- Develops and implements a measurable individualized plan of care for the patient.
- Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on patient outcomes; modifies the plan of care as needed.
- Participates in patient health education and discharge planning.
- Implements and documents timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
- Performs various Point of Care testing procedures.
- Utilizes effective communication strategies for intended outcomes.
- Delegates unit work assignments to ensure completion of required patient care support activities.
- Coordinates team assignments, adjusts based on patient and unit needs, and follows up on delegated tasks.
Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Critical Care - Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- BLS Certification via AHA
- ACLS Certification via AHA
- TNCC Certification
