This position is for a Maintenance / Grounds Technician III at a State of MS agency in Wiggins MS. Responsibilities for third level seasoned vocational worker include : accountability for a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance and repair of state buildings and facilities and grounds. Employees work in and have general knowledge of a variety of trade areas and performs skilled tasks in the following maintenance repair fields : painting, plumbing, carpentry, plastering, electrical work, electronics, air-conditioning / refrigeration, heating, or general maintenance and repair. Participates in the installation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, buildings, equipment, and fixtures; Prepares reports and keeps simple records; Self-motivator; Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned. Qualifications include : Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED) AND three (3) years of experience in at least one of the following fields : plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical work, electronics, plastering, air conditioning and refrigeration, heating equipment, or general maintenance and repair. OR one (1) year of successful experience as a Facilities Maintenance Repairer II. Candidates must have a valid Drivers License, the ability to lift fifty (50) pounds regularly and retrieve objects from floor level (bend / stoop) repeatedly.
