We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical for a 13-week contract assignment on a medical/surgical unit. The RN will provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.
The ideal candidate will have strong medical/surgical nursing experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to medical/surgical patients during the night shift.
Assess patients, monitor changes in condition, and promptly communicate clinical concerns.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
Perform ongoing patient assessments and document care in the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team.
Follow infection prevention, isolation, and hospital safety protocols.
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, medications, and discharge needs.
Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and clinical emergencies.
Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
Clinical Environment
The unit cares for patients with a broad range of medical diagnoses and may include patients requiring various isolation precautions. Candidates should be comfortable following appropriate infection-control and isolation procedures, including enhanced precautions when indicated.
Requirements
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license applicable to the assignment.
Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience.
Current BLS certification from an approved provider.
Recent experience working in a hospital/acute-care environment.
EPIC experience is required.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.
Experience caring for patients requiring various isolation precautions is preferred.
