This role will include field inspection, construction documentation, materials testing, and coordination with project teams to help ensure projects are completed in alignment with plans, contract requirements, and quality standards. This is a strong opportunity for an inspector who enjoys hands-on field work, technical problem-solving, and contributing to meaningful transportation improvements across eastern South Carolina.Primary Responsibilities:Observe and document daily construction activities for transportation infrastructure projectsInspect roadway, bridge, drainage, utility, pedestrian facility, asphalt paving, resurfacing, and safety improvement workVerify construction work complies with project plans, specifications, contract requirements, safety requirements, and quality standardsSample and test construction materials, as requiredMeasure quantities and maintain accurate project recordsReview contractor submittals and report non-compliance issuesComplete daily inspection reports and project documentationCoordinate with project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to support successful project deliveryRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 3 years of transportation construction inspection experienceExperience inspecting roadway, bridge, asphalt, concrete, drainage, utility, pedestrian facility, or earthwork construction activitiesAbility to work in field environments and support project needs in the Florence/Myrtle Beach, SC areaValid driver's licenseStrong math, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skillsPreferred Qualifications:Associate degree in engineering technology or bachelor's degree in civil engineeringSCDOT inspection experienceCurrent DOT or SCDOT certificationsSouth Carolina certifications such as Concrete Technician, Asphalt Roadway Technician, Earthwork & Base Technician, Foundations Certification, or Nuclear Gauge Safety CertificationAll Foth Companies are equal opportunity employers, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
