SDET with Playwright, AI

Job Description:

• We are seeking a highly experienced Lead SDET to drive quality engineering for Digital platforms for a leading P&C insurer , including agent portals, client-facing applications, partner integrations, and digital modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Playwright-based test automation, modern QA engineering practices, and hands-on experience validating AI/Agentic AI-driven workflows.
• The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, manage distributed offshore/onshore teams, and establish automation-first quality practices across complex enterprise digital ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Quality Engineering and Test Automation initiatives for digital applications and APIs.
• Design and implement scalable automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Define and execute automation strategy across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and Business Stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
• Validate Agentic AI solutions, AI-driven workflows, conversational interfaces, and intelligent automation use cases.
• Establish CI/CD-integrated automated testing pipelines.
• Drive test strategy, test planning, defect management, and release readiness assessments.
• Mentor and lead a globally distributed QA team including offshore engineers.
• Define quality metrics, automation KPIs, and provide executive-level reporting.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide quality leadership for multiple scrum teams.

Required Skills

• Test Automation
• Strong expertise in Playwright.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Cross-browser and cross-platform testing experience.
• UI, API, and integration test automation expertise.
• API & Backend Testing
• REST API testing.
• Postman/Newman.
• Contract testing and service virtualization.
• Microservices testing experience.
• CI/CD & DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Test execution in CI/CD pipelines.
• Docker and container-based testing experience preferred.
• Good understanding of DevOps and shift-left testing practices.
• Agentic AI / AI Validation
• Experience testing AI-powered applications.
• Understanding of LLM-based solutions, AI Agents, RAG systems, or Copilot-style applications.
• Experience validating:
• Agent workflows
• Prompt orchestration
• Multi-agent interactions
• AI response quality
• Guardrails and hallucination testing
• Human-in-the-loop workflows

Leadership

• Led teams of 5+ QA engineers.
• Experience managing offshore teams and coordinating global delivery.
• Strong stakeholder communication and status reporting skills.
• Experience working directly with business and client leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Insurance or Financial Services domain experience.
• Experience testing digital portals, mobile applications, or customer-facing platforms.
• Exposure to Agent, Client, Partner, or Direct-to-Consumer digital ecosystems.
• Experience with Accessibility Testing (WCAG).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• ISTQB or equivalent certification preferred.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-assisted testing tools.
• Experience testing Mobile/Web Digital Experience platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Experience with analytics and observability tools.
