Job DescriptionPrincipal Scientist- Erlanger, KYMAIN FUNCTION:This person will be a senior technical leader for volatile flavor analysis who decodes the most complex challenges in long term research, effectively provides analytical insight in short term flavor projects and strives in collaborative working and knowledge sharing within the organization.DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:Senior level role supporting CD&D, R&D and the broader businessWill perform tasks such as:Serve as project lead or individual contributor in global & local flavor projectsVolatile method development and analysis using GC-FID-MS, GCO, GCGC-TOF-MSSample preparation (foods, beverages, flavors etc.)Convert complex analytical, chemometric results into actionable communicationsMaintenance and simple instrument repairsCollaboration within the Global AFI team along with the NA team of flavorists.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:PhD or equivalent in Food science, chemistry or other related field with 10+ years of flavor experienceExperience in the flavor industry is a mustMeticulouswork ethic, highintrinsic motivation, great communicator and collaboratorKEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:Passionate flavor analyst with strong understanding of business needs, team oriented, and possessing strong communication skillsEffectively communicate to internal and external technical and non-technical audiences with ability to succinctly explain complex technical concepts to key stakeholdersResults-oriented with the ability to manage, balance and prioritize multiple project initiatives to meet business objectivesAdvanced level use of analytical instrumentation, flavor analysis, sample preparation techniques and data analysisStrong background in flavors strongly preferredExcited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed? Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
