Criminal Defense Attorney (Richmond)

Portner & Shure is one of the leading criminal defense firms in Virginia. We are seeking a leading associate attorney to handle criminal cases for our Southern Virginia practice. Must be able to work on multiple cases at different stages of the process.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in the General District Court / Circuit Court
• Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients

Qualification

• Experience in criminal defense
• Advise clients about their legal rights and options
• Conduct legal research and devise an effective strategy to defend the client(s) in court
• Gather evidence in support of the case
• Present evidence in court
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build rapport with clients

Must be licensed in Virginia

Speak Spanish a plus but not required

• Qualifications and Ski lls
• Must be proficient with handling a high volumes of cases
• Must be an active member and in good standing with the Virginia bar
• Must have a proven ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.

Must have excellent attention to detail, stellar organization skills and the ability to not only communicate well but to fully grasp real-life implications that these cases have on our clients
