Director, Data Management & Statistics

Piper Companies is seeking a Director, Data Management & Statistics to join an innovative healthcare data science and research consulting organization for a contract-to-hire hybrid position based out of Durham, NC. The Director, Data Management & Statistics will provide strategic leadership across biostatistics, data management, regulatory analytics, and real-world evidence initiatives while partnering with cross-functional scientific teams to support clinical and observational research programs.

Responsibilities of the Director, Data Management & Statistics include:

· Lead and mentor statistical and data management teams, fostering professional development, collaboration, and operational excellence across research initiatives.

· Provide statistical leadership for study design, protocol development, sample size determination, analytical methodologies, and statistical analysis plans.

· Oversee complex analyses involving clinical trial, claims, and electronic health record data while ensuring scientific rigor and regulatory compliance.

· Partner with epidemiologists, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define data requirements, database structures, and analytical strategies for current and future products.

· Support regulatory submissions and client-facing projects by communicating study findings, addressing technical questions, and providing strategic statistical guidance.

Qualifications for the Director, Data Management & Statistics include:

· PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative discipline with 8+ years of biopharmaceutical, healthcare research, or life sciences experience.

· At least 5 years of leadership experience managing and developing scientific, statistical, or data-focused teams.

· Strong background in clinical trial analysis, real-world evidence research, pharmacoepidemiology, and regulatory-facing statistical activities.

· Experience working with administrative claims databases, electronic health records, and advanced statistical methodologies.

· Proficiency with statistical programming tools and data analysis platforms, along with excellent communication and client management skills.

Compensation for the Director, Data Management & Statistics:

Salary Range: $125,000-$165,000/year (USD)
