Purchasing Analyst I (Procurement Focus)

The Purchasing Analyst I (Procurement Focus) is responsible for analyzing and optimizing procurement strategies. This role involves gathering and analyzing procurement data, forecasting market trends, and developing actionable insights to enhance purchasing efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

This position is a hybrid role, involving on-site work at our corporate headquarters in Concord, CA. Candidates who are fully remote or outside of reasonable commuting distance will not be considered.

Responsibilities :

• Collect data and analyze demand history related to procurement activities
• Create and issue purchase orders based on demand needs and monthly receipts plan.
• Obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with company financial goals.
• Generate and provide vendors with an annual view of demand forecast
• Monitor and track the status of all issued purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm order receipt, delivery schedules, and any changes.
• Collaborate with Stores and other corporate departments such as Accounting and Distribution Center to edit and finalize POs.
• Maintain regular communication with vendors to ensure smooth procurement processes, including order discrepancies, delivery delays, quality concerns and quantity discrepancies.
• Manage the Rover and tracking database with delivery information and PO's for purchasing team and DC.
• Actively communicate with vendors to confirm delivery dates and update all stakeholders when there are changes to delivery dates.
• Back up for Purchasing team as needed for responsibilities such as PO creation.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, merchandising and supply chain teams, to support business goals.
• Continuously identify opportunities to enhance pricing and item database processes, systems, and tools. Contribute to the development and implementation of new tools and technologies to streamline pricing and data.

The salary range for this position is expected to be $26.45 - $28.85 per hour. Pet Food Express determines starting salary based on many factors, including but not limited to, local market rate, the qualified pool of candidates, internal compensation practices, a candidate's actual skills and experience.
