The facility contains an 16-bed emergency department with sophisticated imaging and diagnostic equipment, as well as eight in patient beds. The inpatient medical unit is available for times when patients have illnesses that require overnight stays or observation care.

What You'll Do

As an MRI Technologist , you will operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. You'll play a vital role in the imaging process by preparing patients, performing accurate scans, and maintaining equipment.

MRI Technologist Job Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient history to ensure safety and accuracy of scans.
  • Select technical factors to optimize image quality and adjust protocols as needed.
  • Evaluate images for quality, making necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and appropriate imaging protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic MRI procedures and administer IV contrast safely per ACR guidelines.
  • Start IVs, monitor patients, and respond appropriately to patient needs.
  • Ensure safety in the magnetic field and enforce MRI safety precautions at all times.
  • Assist with on-call coverage on a rotational basis.
  • Train and orient new MRI staff, students, and job shadow participants.
  • Maintain MRI equipment and report malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Keep MRI suites stocked with linens and supplies.
  • Patient Data & Image Management

  • Verify and enter accurate patient and exam information into the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Ensure images are transferred to PACS and ready for physician review.
  • Perform post-processing functions (MIP, Medis, Cadstream, etc.).
  • Scan documents into PACS and ensure proper exam coding for billing.
  • Provide films or images to physicians as requested.
  • What You Bring

    You bring technical expertise in MRI, knowledge of anatomy and pathology, and strong interpersonal skills to support both patients and the healthcare team.

    Required Qualifications

  • Education : Associate degree or equivalent certificate in Radiography or MRI.
  • Certification : CPR certification required. ARRT MRI registration within one year of hire.
  • Experience : 1-2 years of Radiography / CT experience or MRI-specific training preferred.
  • Skills : Proficiency in MRI equipment, cross-sectional anatomy, limited nursing / sterile technique, and patient care.
  • Working Conditions

  • Hospital office and patient care environment.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and standard clinical risks.
  • Physical Demands

  • Ability to walk / stand for long periods.
  • Push carts / wheelchairs up to 50 lbs.
  • Position / lift patients up to 35 lbs. independently (over 35 lbs. requires assistance).
  • Provide CPR and other emergency interventions as needed.
