Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring for Senior Structural Stress Analysis Engineer (Level 4) to work at our Commercial Airplanes Washington Design Center based in Everett and Renton, WA.

As a Structural Analysis engineer, you possess a solid understanding of airplane structural analysis methods and tools for both metallic and / or composite structures. You will ensure the airplane has sufficient strength to endure all conditions encountered during its operational life. The analyst also ensures the airplane structure meets all other design requirements including fail-safety, durability and damage tolerance where applicable.

Position Responsibilities :

Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.

Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.

Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models / simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes / reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.

Integrates component-level structural models and perform integrated analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses in order to verify structural integrity.

Develops analytical processes / tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.

Works under minimal direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

Bachelor's degree in one of the following engineering disciplines : Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil, or Structural Engineering degrees.

5+ years related work experience in structure / stress analysis.

10+ years of experience with Engineering classification such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :

ABET-accredited or equivalent engineering degree.

3+ years of experience with Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, or HyperMesh).

Experience with Fatigue or Durability Analysis.

Experience in aerospace stress analysis.

Summary pay range : $124,100 - $167,900
