ABOUT THE POSITION
The Intake Coordinator triages and processes referrals from internal and external sources, ensures smooth onboarding to BHD services, and connects families to community resources for needs outside CSR’s scope. The role maintains timely, accurate EHR documentation, safeguards confidentiality (HIPAA), and participates in supervision and team meetings to support high-quality, culturally responsive care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver exceptional customer service; communicate effectively with physicians, clients, visitors, staff, and other collaterals.
- Determine insurance eligibility.
- Triage calls, assess level of service need, and prioritize waitlist placement; engage members and collaterals appropriately.
- Enter complete, accurate data in the EHR across required tabs; note referrals to admin staff and program supervisors.
- Process and file faxed documents in a timely manner; scan supporting documents for HUB-dependent services.
- Attend weekly supervision and team meetings.
- Update MABHA weekly to reflect program availability.
- Assist with administrative duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Must-Haves
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field and 2 years’ behavioral health experience with youth, adults, and families; or 5+ years’ experience working with the target population.Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills; able to build rapport with staff and referral sources.Knowledge of youth with Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED) and family systems.Proficient documentation skills; ability to complete reports, use data, and communicate ideas constructively.Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Excel) and web-based applications.Knowledge of ICD-10 codes and common medications.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, respond quickly, make decisions, and work independently.Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.SALARY & BENEFITS
