Senior Engineering Project Manager

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Project Manager who will contribute to the success of the R&D Team, applying their expertise in Project Management to support the achievement of team and company goals and deliver innovative, reliable solutions. In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate effectively with colleagues and cross-functional teams, demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and maintain a commitment to professional excellence, quality, and continuous improvement.
As the Senior Engineering Project Manager (Electro-Mechanical Instrumentation) you'll be the "face of the project" and will be the key point of contact for all matters related to the project, interfacing with all areas of the business impacted by the project and its deliverables. You'll be responsible for managing highly technical product development programs. Efforts managed may be multiple product enhancement projects to larger high-growth new product initiatives, all involving teams from a broad range of cross-functional disciplines.
Job Responsibilities :
- Identifying key stakeholders and understanding their expectations for a successful project.
- Working to achieve defined cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
- Monitoring progress on schedule, budget and technical output, as well as scheduling to identify critical path(s) and major risks. You'll be proactively managing risks and employing strategies to address those risks.
- Driving teams to execute on tasks and deliverables, as well as developing a sense of urgency when key deliverables are jeopardized. You'll also be facilitating problem solving and meetings to address obstacles.
- Working with core team and functional leader expertise when faced with critical decisions and hold them accountable to program commitments.
- Facilitates communication to key stakeholders on project performance.
- Ensuring the project scope includes input from all functional disciplines including marketing, engineering, operations, quality, compliance, and service.
- Conducting project Gate reviews and business team meetings.
- May be called upon to manage technical staff.
- Continuously evaluate processes for improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety.

Required Qualifications :
BS in Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science) required.At least 10 years of successful experience managing new product development projects in electro-mechanical instrumentation.Expert-level skills using Project Management tools and techniques, including MS Project.Technically savvy; must be able to discuss, understand and make decisions regarding a wide array of engineering disciplines and complex technical / logistical issues.Must have successfully managed multiple high-technology hardware / software projects from concept through commercialization using a stage-gate process.Experience leading Research Projects with high degree of innovation and technical complexity, resulting in commercially viable technologies.Proven ability to work cross-functionally, harness the powers of teamwork, and relate to myriad technical partners.Highly effective communicator, using both in spoken and written forms; sharp interpersonal skills who understand how to communicate across varied audiences in a climate of debate.PMP Certification Required.Sound executive presence with the strong ability to communicate at the senior leadership levels.Required skills : communication, collaboration, organization etc.Preferred Qualifications :
MBA, M.S. or PhD in Engineering or Technical degree.Experience working in an Agile environment.Agile, Scrum Master or similar certifications.Experience with lasers or light-based systems.Work Environment & Physical Requirements :
This is an "in-office" position 50 75% of the time in Niwot, CO.This role primarily operates in an office / lab / manufacturing environment. Competitive base salary range : $125000 - 163000Our compensation philosophy : we offer competitive pay based on market data, including local, national, and industry benchmarks. For new hires, offers are generally within the established min- to mid-point of the range for the role, with flexibility to recognize experience, skills, and education.
