Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Supervisor with strong technical and mechanical skills to lead the facility’s maintenance operations and oversee housekeeping and laundry.

This position is not a desk job — the right candidate will spend the majority of their time performing maintenance repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks, while also managing a small environmental services team.

Key Responsibilities

Perform and oversee daily maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and equipment repairs.

Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure regulatory compliance and minimize downtime.

Lead, train, and supervise staff in the Maintenance, Housekeeping, Janitorial, and Laundry departments.

Conduct and document safety, life safety, and environmental rounds to ensure compliance with CDPH, CMS, OSHA, and Life Safety Code requirements.

Coordinate and monitor outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or renovation projects.

Oversee cleanliness, infection control, and quality standards in all facility areas.

Manage department budgets and maintain accurate maintenance logs, PM records, and work orders.

Participate in facility safety programs, disaster preparedness, and QAPI initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, or general repair required).

Supervisory or lead experience in a skilled nursing, hospital, or commercial building environment preferred.

A working knowledge of the Life Safety Code, Title 22, and OSHPD / HCAI regulations is strongly preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical manuals.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under time-sensitive conditions.

Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and service-oriented with a high level of integrity.

Why Join New Vista

Supportive, mission-driven leadership team that values teamwork and accountability.

Competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Opportunity to lead multiple departments and make a direct impact on resident safety and facility quality.

Career growth potential within a respected and growing healthcare organization.
