Position Summary :

We are looking to fill the position of host for Henrietta, an intimate California Bistro and Deli in Echo Park opening in early November.

A 30-40 seat California take on the “deli and market by day, bistro by night” restaurants of Rome and Paris, Henrietta is a true neighborhood restaurant. Hosts will work alongside the entire FOH and BOH team and create a warm, positive and welcoming environment for staff and guests alike.

Hosts are the first person the guest will see and interact with when they walk through the door. The host is responsible for setting the tone for the night and representing Henrietta in a positive, caring and upbeat manner.

Hosts will be required to set-up and manage reservations as well as walk in guests. As a small restaurant, hosts will be asked to engage in all aspects of service from seating to food running to clearing and re-setting tables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to :

  • Manage reservation book prior to service. (experience with Resy a plus).
  • Manage the floor during service, keeping track of tables, turn times, and incoming reservations.
  • Greet and seat guests.
  • Balance reservations with a large percentage of walk-in guests.
  • Communicate with guests in a kind informative manner
  • Arrive on time in a neat, clean uniform with proper grooming and personal hygiene
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Basic math skills (ability to make change)
  • Basic reading, writing, and computer skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
  • Ability to suggestively sell food and beverage items

  • Standing for the entire shift
