Salary :  $140,000 - $160,000

Locations :  Bedford, NY | Colorado (6–8 weeks during summer)

Schedule :

  • Bedford, NY :  Based primarily in Bedford for most of the year, working 3–4 full days per week
  • Colorado :  During summer (6–8 weeks), full-time schedule of 7 days per week; overtime compensation provided

Compensation :  Competitive salary with full benefits

Position Overview

A private family is seeking an experienced, polished, and creative Private Chef to join their culinary team. The position will support two principals in their 70s and 80s who highly value beautiful, healthy food, elegant presentation, and refined plating. The chef will collaborate closely with the family’s current chef to deliver exceptional, health-focused meals throughout the year.

This role is based primarily in Bedford, NY, with travel to Colorado for approximately 6–8 weeks each summer. The position requires preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring variety, quality, and presentation that reflect a formal dining standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and execute daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the principals and any of their guests.
  • Collaborate with the existing chef to coordinate menus and maintain consistent quality and presentation
  • Prepare a variety of cuisine styles — fresh, seasonal, healthy, and elegantly plated
  • Source high-quality, fresh ingredients and manage grocery shopping and kitchen inventory
  • Maintain an immaculate and organized kitchen at all times
  • Support both casual dining and formal entertaining as needed
  • Travel to family residences, particularly to Colorado during the summer
  • Maintain the highest levels of discretion and professionalism
  • Both principals enjoy a variety of proteins but place a high emphasis on nutritious, well-balanced cuisine.
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition and the ability to prepare healthy, balanced meals.
  • Skilled in creating vegetarian and vegetable-forward dishes suitable for vegan guests.

    • Housing / Accommodations :

  • Private room available in Bedford for overnight stays if preferred
  • Overnights  not required  for local candidates residing near Bedford
  • Accommodations provided on the property in Colorado during the summer period

    • Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience as a Private Chef in a high-profile or UHNW household
  • Formal culinary training from a recognized and accredited culinary institution
  • Expertise in healthy, seasonal, and formal plated cuisine
  • Strong culinary background with exceptional plating, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable preparing meals for older principals with refined tastes and dietary preferences
  • Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with household staff
  • Willingness to travel, including 6–8 weeks in Colorado during the summer
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • U.S. work authorization required
