American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Mount Shasta, California.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a current CA RN license and advanced L&D credentials.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in the Family Birth Center within an acute care hospital
  • Labor & Delivery unit with 3 birthing rooms, patient ratios ranging from 1 : 1 to 1 : 4
  • Patient population includes laboring mothers and newborns, averaging 150-175 births per year
  • 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
  • Travel nurse is first to float and may occasionally assist with MedSurg tasks if L&D is full
  • Cerner EMR is used in the unit
  • Nurses may be the primary L&D nurse on-site and may attend to newborns during C-sections with support from RT and anesthesia
  • Floors provide at least 2 days of orientation per floated unit, based on experience and comfort level
  • Travelers participate in the permanent staff holiday rotation
  • Ceil blue scrubs are required and will be provided by the hospital
  • Relias Dysrhythmia exam and sterile technique test may be required as part of the hiring or onboarding process
  • Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year

  • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
  • Certifications required : BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • COVID vaccine required as part of compliance
  • Must provide two professional references : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years
  • Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
