Part time Activity Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team at Gateway Post-Acute and Rehab in Pinellas Park, FL. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by creating engaging and meaningful experiences. This is a full-time position that offers a rewarding and dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and implement activities that cater to the interests and abilities of our residents, promoting socialization, physical and mental well-being, and overall enjoyment
Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement activity programs, including events, outings, and recreational activities
Recruit and supervise volunteers, interns, and students to assist with activities and events
Maintain accurate records of activities, resident participation, and supplies
Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service education to stay current with best practices and industry developments
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Recreation Therapy, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
at least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, with an eagerness to learn and grow in the role
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
Compassion, empathy, and a passion for providing exceptional care to individuals with complex needs
