Harrington’s Bar and Grill, established in 1935, and now operating under new ownership, is a San Francisco institution located in the heart of the Financial District.  We are also proudly part of California's first ever entertainment zone. As one of the anchor venues on the street, we don’t just serve the neighborhood — we help energize it. Harrington’s throws legendary block parties and regularly hosts large groups, private events, and community activations that keep the spirit of downtown alive. Known for our classic American pub fare, extensive bourbon / whiskey list, and creative cocktail program, we cater to a diverse crowd of locals, professionals, and large private parties.

Job Summary :

We’re looking for an incredibly charismatic and personable server to join our team. This person thrives in a high-energy environment, connects easily with guests, and enjoys being part of something bigger than the establishment itself — someone who wants to help shape the future of downtown SF while providing excellent service.

What You'll Do :

Deliver friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable table service from greeting to close

Guide guests through our food, beer, wine, and cocktail offerings with confidence

Accurately take and enter orders, manage the room, and anticipate guest needs

Collaborate closely with bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service

Maintain a clean, organized section and uphold all health and safety standards

• Handle cash and credit transactions responsibly
• Create a welcoming, neighborhood-bar experience for regulars and first-timers alike

What We’re Looking For

Previous serving experience preferred (high-volume or pub experience a plus)

Strong communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude

Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure

Knowledge of food, beer, wine, and cocktails—or eagerness to learn

Reliable, punctual, and professional

Required Certifications :

Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification

Required for all employees who serve or sell alcohol

Must be obtained within 60 days of hire if not already certified

California Food Handler’s Certificate

Must be current or obtained shortly after hire, in compliance with local regulations

Schedule & Pay :

Daytime and evening shifts available

Monday–Friday operation, eventually opening on Saturdays
