Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Computer Hardware Engineer position for our client.

Location : Morrisville, NC

Duration : 12+ months, with possibility for extension

Key Responsibilities :

Set up and configure server nodes : power, network connections, OS, and firmware installations.

Conduct server performance, thermal, power, and airflow testing; execute Firmware Tests (FWT).

Review test logs, document failures, and produce performance reports.

Assist with hardware debugging : disassemble, replace components, reassemble, and verify functionality.

Track issues and verify resolutions / fixes.

Required Skills :

Knowledge of server / computer hardware : CPU, NVMe, DIMM, NIC.

Familiarity with server firmware : BIOS, BMC, UEFI.

Ability to read and modify PowerShell scripts.

Experience with System Integration Tests (power-cycle, stress, performance).

OS and firmware installation, server setup, power & network cabling.

Preferred Skills :

Server thermal and power performance testing.

Firmware testing (BMC, BIOS, commodity firmware).

Experience & Education :

Hands-on experience with server hardware testing, assembly, and troubleshooting.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), or Computer Science (CS).

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
