Job Description

Harrison Gray Search is recruiting on behalf of a growing multi-state healthcare organization that provides mobile podiatry services to long-term care facilities. This team-oriented, fast-paced company is seeking a Medical Operations Manager to lead key operational departments and support its continued growth and modernization.

This role is available for an immediate start. The ideal candidate is an experienced operations leader in healthcare or a similar service-based industry. While medical or podiatry experience is preferred, the client is open to high-level operators who are fast learners and can adapt quickly.

About the Role

The Medical Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Scheduling, Insurance Verification, and Billing teams. The role requires someone who can quickly earn the trust of a tenured team, implement new processes, build performance metrics, and support the integration of new service lines. This individual must be a hands-on leader, willing to train alongside team members for the first few weeks, and help guide the organization through a period of operational transition.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Oversight

  • Lead, support, and mentor a team of 15–20 professionals across three departments.
  • Establish performance metrics and drive accountability through structured workflows.
  • Support change management as the organization expands services and introduces new processes.

Operations & Strategy

  • Develop and track operational KPIs for all departments.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, cross-training, and efficiency optimization.
  • Leverage EHR systems (NextGen) and assist with system improvements and training.
  • Revenue Cycle & Compliance

  • Oversee insurance verification and claims management.
  • Lead A / R review and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Maintain HIPAA and Medicare compliance and serve as a liaison during audits.
  • Scheduling & Patient Coordination

  • Ensure optimal provider scheduling and manage escalated patient / facility concerns.
  • Monitor and adjust scheduling strategies to minimize idle time.
  • Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience : 5–7+ years in healthcare or operations management, preferably in a multi-site environment. Experience in podiatry is a plus but not required.
  • Leadership : Proven ability to lead teams through change and implement new systems and metrics.
  • Tech Savvy : Proficiency with EHR systems (especially NextGen), Excel, and workflow automation tools.
  • Personality Fit : Someone adaptable, energetic, and capable of operating in a culture undergoing transformation. Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset are essential.
  • Cultural Fit

The company is undergoing strategic operational upgrades and is seeking a leader who can embrace change while earning trust in a legacy-driven team. You’ll work directly with executive leadership to improve efficiencies and launch new services. The environment is dynamic, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced, and the successful candidate will need to balance assertiveness with empathy as they support a team that is used to long-standing processes.

    Logistics & Compensation

  • Location : Clearwater, FL (Hybrid : In-office Tuesday–Thursday; remote Monday and Friday)
