Job Description

The

Marketing & Communications Specialist

will work directly with the Sales, Marketing, Revenue, and Food & Beverage teams in supporting the strategic marketing direction of the hotel reporting to the Director of Communications.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following :

Responsibilities

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external customers

Coordinate media, partner and influencer experiences during hotel visits and stays

Reservation creation and tracking for media / partner guests

Event ticketing and transportation coordination

Marketing materials creation including invitations, flyers, signage and tracking

Assist with regular photo shoots through shot list curation and on-site support

Prioritize all telephone calls and in-person visitors, scheduling appointments as required

Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all guests, vendors and partners

Ensure all PR collateral is current and updated

Collaborate on monthly social media post scheduling including caption creation, story linking and audience monitoring in concert with Marketing & Social Media Manager and Director of Communications

Assist with advertising deliverables and relationships as needed (email copy, display ad curation, UTM links, etc.)

Track press clips and notable media coverage on a daily / weekly basis with press reporting quarterly as needed

Track monthly advertising ROI by partner

Assist in coordinating and producing on and off-site hotel events

Assist with ordering and tracking inventory of sales & marketing amenities

Provide all administration duties for theCommunications office including regular meeting agendas and note taking as applicable

Track incoming invoices as well as process all invoices and add new vendors efficiently

Food & Beverage menu and marketing maintenance and support

Assist with the maintenance of accounts, contact, activity and business details within appropriate applications

Follow departmental policies and procedures

Assist e-commerce manager with website assets and updates and design updates as needed

Digital and physical signage design and execution

Press material review and pitching support

Follow all safetypolicies

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions :

Previous 2-3 years of administrative, PR, Marketing, Social Media or related experience preferred

Advanced skills in Microsoft Window applications and / or relevant computer applications required

Knowledge of Opera PMS an asset

Knowledge of Cision, Later, Canva and InDesign an asset

University / College degree required

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required

Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

Highly responsible & reliable

Ability to appropriately prioritize and focus attention on needs, remaining calm and courteous at all time

Highly organized, with the ability to be flexible and work well under deadlines

Passion for communications related field

Writing test required

Physical Demands

This position requires both sitting and walking for extended periods of time throughout the day.
