Research Engineer - Hypersonic M&S Group - Crane, IN
CFD Research is seeking a mid-level research engineer to perform development and application of computational methods for hypersonic vehicle modeling and simulations. The candidate will be part of a team focused on physics-based modeling of multiple facets of hypersonic flight, including TPS aerothermal response, boundary layer modeling, material ablation and decomposition, hypersonic external flow modeling, flight trajectory modeling, Lagrangian particle tracking, signature modeling, and more. Candidate will support tasks focused on the development and application of multiple software tools ranging from CFD applications, reduced order modeling, and low- to medium-fidelity semi-empirical / analytical models. The position provides an engaging work environment with excellent opportunities for growth and advancement as the hypersonic research and development portfolio of the team continues to grow.
